Dr. Imran Anwar joined the Department of Mathematics SBASSE as Associate Professor and the Chair of the Department in 2021. He completed his PhD from the Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences (ASSMS), GC University Lahore in 2008. He served as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics in COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Lahore between 2008 and 2015. Later in 2015, he got affiliated with the Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences (ASSMS) as Associate Professor and served there till 2020. Among various roles at ASSMS, he was the Director Academics and MPhil/PhD coordinator. He has always been spirited about teaching mathematics and motivating students to solving problems, thinking critically, and feeling excited about the subject. Being in a leadership role at the Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences (ASSMS), he curated study circles, public lectures and instilled a deep fascination for the mathematical universe, into the minds of numerous students, even outside the institution. His area of research is combinatorial aspects of commutative algebra, in particular problems related with enumerative study of simplicial complexes.
