Identity Issues

Identity Issues

The discipline of psychology is engaged with the well-being of an individual and the society he/she lives in, as well as threats linked to the well-being. Our counselors work to improve the health of individuals who have been subjected to prejudice and discrimination. We recognize that students with marginalized identities may find the campus experience considerably more challenging.

Counselors on campus recognize that identity issues can have an impact on a student's healthy growth and psychological well-being.

Campus Counselor's Role

We are committed to supporting all students, regardless of gender, race and ethnicity and we aim to make our campus a safe, inclusive and an affirming environment.

Our Campus counselors:

Provide a loving, open-minded, and protective space for students to be themselves and feel comfortable on campus. We've created norms and standards of practice that are both ethical. Our therapists are trained to assist clients by making them feel at ease and empathizing with their feelings and experiences.
